Role Overview:
The Survey Specialist will be responsible for planning, executing, and overseeing large-scale survey operations. This role demands expertise in managing field teams, ensuring data quality, and delivering survey results that meet project objectives. The Survey Specialist will collaborate closely with project management, operations, and data teams to ensure seamless execution from design to reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design survey methodologies, questionnaires, and sampling strategies
- Plan and manage large-scale field survey operations, including recruitment, training, and supervision of field teams
- Coordinate logistics for data collection, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget
- Implement quality control measures and monitoring protocols during data collection
- Collaborate with technology teams for mobile/tablet-based data collection setup
- Troubleshoot operational challenges in the field and provide on-the-spot solutions
- Analyze and interpret survey data in coordination with data analysis teams
- Prepare and present comprehensive survey reports for stakeholders
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in conducting large-scale surveys
- Must have experience in at least one survey involving 3,00,000+ respondents/beneficiaries/households
OR at least two surveys involving 1,50,000+ respondents/beneficiaries/households - Educational Qualification: Graduate in Social Sciences, Statistics, Economics, or related field (Postgraduate preferred)
- Must be proficient in reading, writing, and speaking both English and Panjabi
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of survey design and statistical sampling methods
- Experience with digital data collection tools (e.g., SurveyCTO, ODK, CSPro, KoboToolbox)
- Ability to manage large, geographically dispersed field teams
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Understanding of quality assurance and field monitoring techniques
- Ability to work in challenging field environments and meet tight deadlines
